Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo

Plan your visit

The guide describes the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo (CAAC) as housed in the 15th-century Monasterio Santa María de las Cuevas, also known as La Cartuja, in Seville’s La Cartuja district, north of Triana and across the river from the city centre. The guide says the permanent collection consists mostly of mid- to late-20th-century Andalusian artists, including Seville artists Luis Gordillo and Equipo 57, as well as non-Spanish artists such as Nan Goldin, Bill Viola and Wolfgang Tillmans. The guide also describes gardens, including a walled area with fruit trees, and a café with outdoor seating; it notes that the site’s tall, cone-shaped kiln chimneys can be seen from a distance.^[1]
